Quickstart
To quickly configure and start posting with Easy Post please follow the procedure below.
STEP 1 - Configuring news account
Run Easy Post and under Options menu choose Accounts.

Account Settings and Selection window opens.

Select an account to configure (1-10) in the Account # field. Now simply type in the appropriate settings in the corresponding fields - like your name, your e-mail address and news server to be used for posting. If you are unsure about the port setting for your news server, then leave it at the default value (119).
If your news server requires you to log in, please check [] Server requires log on option and fill in your login data (username and password). Otherwise, leave this option
unchecked.
NOTE:
You are given a choice of configuring up to 10 different news account settings. Active account (the one whose settings will be used for posting) is the one indicated by
Account # field in Account Selection tab of this form and whose settings are currently displayed in this form.
Clear Account option will clear all the fields and set some default values and Get Default will copy all the data from your default Outlook Express news
account - providing you have Outlook Express installed and configured for news posting. This is the easiest and the quickest way to configure your news account.
NOTE:
Get Default option will NOT copy your news account login password from your default Outlook Express news account. You will need to manually type in your password.
If your news server does not require you to log in, please make sure [] Server requires log on option is unchecked and preferably leave User Name and
Password fields empty.

YDECODE USERS NOTE: Get Default will NOT work correctly when you use yDecode. It will copy "localhost" as server name which is not correct for Easy Post and you will probably get socket errors. Replace this "server name" with correct server name (for example: news.yourprovider.com) to make it work.
After filling in all the required data, select Advanced tab and continue configuring the account settings.

You can specify your Organization and Reply-To address, or leave these fields empty. You are also given an option to set your news server timeout - this
is period of time Easy Post will tolerate when receiving no response from your news server before it stops the communication and proclaims the server as 'unreachable'. Default setting for this is 1 minute which is a good value for most servers and most connection types.
You can also configure how your messages (posts) will be split when sending them to the news server. It is advisable NOT to send large (more than 500K) files as a single post to your server
as most servers will not support large posts anyway. Thus said, check [] Split messages larger than option and enter a reasonable message split size (in KB) in the field below.
Default split is at 500 KB of binary data.
NOTE: Small split size will result in larger number of posts to the server, which could be treated as flood and big split size (or non-split single post) could be unacceptable by your (or some other) news server.
After you finish configuring your news account, simply click OK and you are ready to post.
STEP 2 - Posting
Now all that is left to do is adding some files in the list and specifying newsgroup(s) name, and optional subject and description of the posting session.

To specify newsgroup(s) your post will be send to you can either type it in manually in the Newsgroups field or simply click on the button and select newsgroups from the list.
See more details on selecting newsgroups in the Newsgroups Selection section.
Subject is title used for the posting session - meaning that all files that are sent in one go (all from the list - if posting isn't aborted) get the same subject. This field is optional. Posting subject gets formatted this way: Subject [a/b] - "filename" yEnc (x/y). [a/b] indicates current file position in the list / total files in the list and (x/y) indicates current part of the file / total number of parts in split file. So even without specifying a subject, it will be easy for other people to download (and merge your split) files.
Detailed description is another optional field you may use to describe the contents of your post to your audience. You can put whatever you like here and it will be displayed in a special message that will precede the actual binary post.
To add files you will post (in single session) you can either use Add Files button or Add Files from the File menu. You can also simply drag and drop desired files into listview. Clicking on Name or Size header will sort your files in list by name or size. You can also remove unwanted files using Remove Files button after selecting (marking) files in the list you want to remove.
Now, when you added your files and set newsgroup to be posted to, click either Post button or select Post All from the File menu. Likewise, while the posting procedure lasts, you can stop posting by clicking the same commands - now named Stop Posting.
After the posting ends, the subject and description fields will be available for editing again with previous values.
Clear All button will clear these fields. This button does not affect newsgroups field.
NOTE: Files will be posted in the order they are displayed in the listview (top to bottom). After a file was sent successfully, it will be removed from the list. If posting is stopped either by you or because of some error, all unsent files in the listview will appear in red color.
